Once again I’ve left the blog until there’s just too much to talk about. We’ve had a really busy month with our celebration event, decorating day , various training events and meetings, and with moving the project into the next stage. The celebration event was brilliant! It was the first official use of the Medway since we’ve taken it on, and our neighbours Plugging the Gaps opened their wild flower nursery and we all had a glass of bubbly …or two…donated by a local business Tyne Vale Financial Services to celebrate.
The volunteer day yesterday was amazing too, the amount of work that got done was astounding. We’re so grateful for the help and support of all of our brilliant team of volunteers and now the building is pretty much done!
Now that the weather is getting colder growth has slowed down and we’re not all consumed by controlling the weeds. We have completed another couple of pathways on the veg plot and Sam has taken to hiding from the elements in the poly tunnel, there’s even talk of getting an armchair in there 😉 On the plus side, it’s a joy to be in the garden on the fresh frosty mornings and the herb and sensory garden still look stunning.
Please let us know if you would like to come and volunteer with us, new faces are always welcome.
