We are delighted to welcome the Plugging The Gaps Project, which is situated at the bottom of the site, into the Higher Ground family. This fantastic project has previously been led by Ruth Star-Keddle, Ben Scotting and the North Pennines AONB partnership and they have had a brilliant year with loads of volunteer activity.

As of the end of April this Heritage Lottery funded project is now being taken forward as a volunteer-led group fronted by Ginny Swaile and will be administered by Higher Ground. Their focus is on wild flower meadows and plug planting bee friendly flowers, and involving our community in volunteer activities. We are really excited about the new dimensions and opportunities that this will give our members and gardeners, more activities to get involved with and improve mental health through working with wild flowers.
If you would like to be involved please contact Ginny at pluggingthegaps@yahoo.com and find out more on their FB page
